Boats and Money ...

Whether you like it of not ...

The people with money also love Skiathos, especially so over the next few weeks as people stop work all over europe, and head off to the sun.

Its quite funny when you see comments like 'Skiathos needs less people- famous or not on the island and they would hate for it to become commercial' Makes you wonder where they have been. After all it was the Onassis family that started off the precedent and, they were Greek, had money and were followed everywhere by the paparazzi ...

Hard to keep that secret, it got ourt in the 1960's ...

There have been some lovely boats, arriving on the island over the last few weeks.

'Nahlin is a luxury yacht and one of the last of three large steam yachts constructed in the UK. She was built for Lady Annie Henrietta Yule, heiress of Sir David Yule, and was launched in 1930.[She is currently owned by British industrial entrepreneur Sir James Dyson, who purchased her from Sir Anthony Bamford, Chairman of JCB. The name Nahlin is taken from the Native American word meaning "fleet of foot" and the yacht has a figurehead depicting a Native American wearing a feathered headdress beneath the bowsprit' ...

You see, So if you love Skiathos as we all do, then you either go 'round the island' or you arrive in the aegean, aboard your gleaming white and 'choose your island'
