Summer storm and the footie ...

Matt captures the moment ...

No need to vote on it ...

A twenty minute storm last night, well two thunderclaps after direct lightning strikes on the island. Which seems to have upset some of the troops, for not being forecast.

Seems strange, as Italy had the weather on Tuesday, then the Balklans and Greece will get it the following day. Hail the size of tennis balls reported to the north in Serbia.

This was the Skiathos Weather station forecast when the 2.5mm of rain hit 'Mostly cloudy and cooler. Precipitation possible within 12 hours, possibly heavy at times. Windy'

More of the same expected over the next few days. But if you rely on the apps, and the 'Biased Broadcasting Corporation' ...

Tip of the day: The best Skiathos weather forecast is the 'mark one eyeball'
Look up and you can see whats coming ...

'Lightning struck a 14-year-old boy who was training in the stadium of Football Academy in Larissa, Central Greece, on Wednesday afternoon. The teenager was severely injured and passed out.

He was reportedly transferred to a local hospital, where doctors were reported to be struggling to keep him alive.

A summer storm hit the area on Wednesday afternoon, with heavy rain fall, with hail and very strong winds'. (Keep Talking Greece)

Lets hope the young man makes a full recovery ...

  1. Mr Skiathan .we are returning to the island on the 4th July. Give it another go! Please pay tribute to a lovely islander that was always a pleasure to meet again. Namely Kiryakos from the ceramic shop. I have a wonderful picture if you like me to send it to you.
