Hot off the press ...

Regarding the Olive press ...

Geof Baldry advises: It seems that an olive press owner in Glossa will organise trucks to come to Skiathos to pick up the olives, take them to Glossa, press them, and return the oil. 

The charge appears to be (waiting for confirmation on this) 9 Lepta (Euro cents) per kilo of olives which will cover everything. The previous Skiathos press used to charge 10 Lepta (!) per kilo. 

I am told that there is a telephone number, on the front door of Georgos Kantarakias' shop (strimmers, etc).

If true this is great news for island friends with trees, groaning under the weight of huge olives ...
