  1. They are taking sun beds & umbrellas off the beaches where there are no toilet or running water facilities- on Kanapitsa they removed about 40 beds & apparently this is happening all over the island- something amiss here!

    1. Suggest its not unreasonable to insist on good facilities, toilets showers etc from the licence holders. Perhaps they are not compliant with what they have signed up for - Or have installed beds illegally and charged customers. If so then they have shot themselves in the foot.

  2. Why are Koukanaries and Kanapitsa beach missing from the list of beaches in the recent action list please?

    1. Koukounaries is under the direct control of the town council. Kanapitsa and Troulos are both missing from the list, and there appears (from reports) to be a problem with the lack of facilities to meet the franchise requirements.
One source on the island is suggesting there is a historic issue, with payment to the central government of the taxes which delays the process

    1. Hi Ken, The fee is per year which when you have so few weeks to earn it, makes life even more challenging ...

    2. Thanks for that response. Seven weeks into the season, wondering what impact that has not only on traders but how many early visitors that has put off for next year. Alternatively what is being done to inform visitors that they will not have to wait again next year? Personally, having returned for my first visit of the year, we were unable to enjoy taking other guests to our lunches on Tsougria or Arkos
