Led astray ...

By Greek friends from the rock ...

That's what happens, meet up for coffee they said, So we did, I even managed to find a coffee house that makes strong coffee. Only the Barista somehow managed to confuse, Cappuccino with Chai Latte.

Result three of us acting as if we had swallowed a fly on a motorbike, going down the hill at Achladies, (Yes that's how you spell it not Achaladies or Archaladies or even Archachadies)

Three refreshed cappuccinos later, and a seriously cheesed off coffee shop manager, was still growling in the corner, at a harassed looking lady Barista.

Friendships were renewed, presents exchanged, stories told and even helping out on a hotel booking that Booking.com had somehow screwed up - We went to the pub ...

Because of the archaic rules of pub infrastructure, we had to be vetted by a doorman, passed to another pub, that would allow junior in, then be ushered up to roof top level (Third floor) Here where probably no-one would look through the window.

We then had to walk down to the bar, for drinks and to the distant basement for the loo. But they are tourists and put up with this kind of thing. Even remarking the loos, were not as good as back on the rock.

'What is the matter with this country they said - Too many rules' - No I replied. 'they choose to obey them' and we all laughed ...

Its so much easier in Greece, you want something, you sit, they serve you, you have a drink, and then you pay. They do not quite get that its a bar, you wave your money in a bidding exercise, and if you are lucky, you get a tray to negotiate the stairs. - Oh and kids are welcome everywhere ...

It was good to get my friend, to close her eyes, hold out her hands. Open them to find them filled with freshly scrumped 'Flapjacks from M&S' Yes I know how to make a Greek woman happy - well her husband laughed too ...

One glass led to another, then another bottle, that's the way it goes, and it went very well indeed ...
