Monsoon season ...

Yes the storms have arrived ...

Bang on time at 11am, rumbles of thunder and approaching dark clouds. They deposited some large raindrops, just giving us time to run for cover.

15 minutes of torrential rain and explosive lightning bolts later, the air is cool and everything, smells fresh and clean again.

Troulos flooded this morning, (No change there) the road from.bus stop 18 down to bus stop 20 was covered in mud and was being cleaned with a JCB. Single file traffic with the police in attendance. The road being washed down with pressure washers, and hosepipes from the water company, when I passed.

Later update: Another big storm late this afternoon, The skies darkened around 4pm, lightning flashes and very warm winds. The thunder was spectacular following, the lightning overhead.

I made it home just in time, the street a raging torrent, awash ankle deep ...

Troulos was left in a mess yet again. This time most of the island felt the full force of mother nature. We had 8mm of rain,in one hour ...

All that rain sends a torrent of mud, and gravel down the road. Eventually it makes its way to the beach.
