Early rumbles ...

Apart from the fact that I am hungry ...

I can hear a thunderstorm near the island from the south west. For the last 20 minutes it's been announcing its presence slowly but surely. It's getting nearer, the thunder echoing, but getting stronger.

Perhaps today, the weather apps will be right ...

A proper crack of thunder, probably around 10 miles away. Rumbles are a minute or so apart.

It's been strangely quiet for a while, now a distant rumble to the west. It's passed us by, and gone north over on pelion ...

Here is a photo by Manos Lazos of waterspouts this morning, between Skiathos and Skopelos

08:40: Sunshine on the walls, torrential rain on the streets, and cracking thunderclaps and lighting all around. It was to be expected, I understand the rainmaker is here ...

A short sharp and violent Skiathos thunderstorm, once again, that affected half the island. From Aghia Pareskevi west, it was dry and sunny.

Later I met someone who met a mid island shower, arriving drenched in the sunshine ...

We are wondering if we have done the right thing booking last week in Sept. Too late now, it will be what it will be :) I'd better start reading up on how to take good photos of stormy skies :)

    1. Apparently they had the meal before the heavens opened. Then retreated indoors. It will be fine - no worries ...
