The sun finally shone on the parade ...

We had a glorious afternoon, and were blessed with excellent weather after all ...

My farmers outfit went down quite well, as did the ancient Dunlop wellies. The children were fantastic, and looked great dressed up as fruit.

The carnival procession was complete and utter madness. Whistles blowing - confetti everywhere, streamers, enormous party poppers the size of your arm, that went off with a deafening bang.

Even Mrs Merkel popped in and joined the party ...

Merkel arrives ...
On the subject of elections, its also fine to poke fun at the Mayor, and the candidates who are standing, to replace him ...

You can view traditional Skiathos transport ...

You can dress up any way you like ...

Who can name this man ?
Oh and we had Souvelakia - and a glass or two of wine ...

Some floats needed a gentle push back to base ...

Others using 50 year old transport did not have any problem at all ...

Even Niko and Yorgos, working their socks off in Kabourelias joined in the fun ...

Without doubt, the best carnival parade, that I have seen here, since becoming a castaway. On this occasion, I have also been able to take part in it with Junior too, which made it all the more fun  ...

  1. Well you all certainly seem to have fun out of season. It appears to be non-stop carnivals and saints days. Great for the kids in particular, and lovely for the parents to be able to get together.
