March bureacracy ...

This months success has taken four months ...

A total of eight visits to the office, three times within the last two weeks. The papers have been examined in infinite detail on each occasion. Each time we have been dismissed to return at a later date.

This time though, we met someone who wanted to see the back of us, in the nicest way possible. The papers scrutinised again, but the boss dismissed with a gesture, only a Greek would recognise.

We had ticked all the right boxes, we had the right papers, the date was right, the phase of the moon too. There was even ink in the stamp pad ...

By jingo, I got it - run quick ...
I could hardly believe it, as we emerged triumphant, into the sunshine, and ran off down the road before they could change their mind ...

A beautiful morning here on the rock, but the clouds are appearing, and there are dire forecasts of rain and strong winds for the next few days ...

Nice to see Apollon Hellas emerge on the radar screens this morning, albeit some 16 minutes late. The guys at Skopelosnews were on the ball yesterday. They sent me a mail alert, to say Apollon Hellas, had kissed the harbour yesterday in Skopelos town. It was running late as the port authotrity, had to inspect the vessel to see if it was fit to continue its trip, which it did ...

Looks like Skopelos could well be in the news again today, if they can nudge past the finish line in the Guardian competition. Now we would not like to say the ballot has been 'swung' just yet, but good luck to them. Hope they will have the same success, finding at least one Mayoral candidate this year :) - Perhaps we can lend them one of ours ...

Island friends - Its time to stop sitting on your hands, and get down to the town hall. You have a few more days to register to vote. There will be a new mayor this year for sure, now that the current Mayor, Nikos Plomaritis has decided to stand down. No good complaining later, if you do not take part in the process ...

A very good morning to Marias cafe bar here in Skiathos - Thanks for posting a link to the blog, on your page on Valentines day ...
