Skiathos Airport expansion update (6) ...

The sun is up, the sky is blue ...

Apart from it being an absolutely gorgeous day, the breeze has started up, and its getting quite gusty. That said, out of the breeze there is real heat, from the sun this morning.

Looking good ...
A good drying day as my mother would say. So once SWMBO has put out the washing - We are off for a walk to blow the cobwebs away ...

13:00hrs

Have been blasted all the way along club strip, by the very strong breeze, as I headed back up to the airport with the camera.

You may recognise some of these locations ...

I did not venture further, as the dust being blown along by the strong breeze, at times made vision difficult. Its a long walk back to the medical centre ...

Its not looking promising down at Tiffany's, the roof was removed yesterday. From what I can see, the last Mythos of summer, was probably served last October ...

Entrance ...
The rear and the roof going in the truck ...
View towards town, rear of Tiffany ...
Moving on ...

The blue house ...
Some colour below the door ...
Recycling the soil from the airport ...
The lovely riding school near the airport ...

More evidence of recycling of surplus soil ...
Its a dogs life ...
Sunlight in the Olive grove ...
Yes I am impressed - quality construction ...
I did mention the 'Worm Moon' yesterday. Here is proof that it has cast its spell ...

The vines are budding out ...
Judas tree blossom, bursting out everywhere ...

  1. There are some nice swings there for junior :-). The airport looks strange not being busy with coaches, cars and people. Watch out wood pile the hunter gatherers are returning soon.

  2. It's a sad day to see this as I know the family that owned it and the family who lived in the apartment above the bar

  3. Spring is definitely there (and here). Cherry blossoms though? I doubt it... More like Judas Tree aka koutsoupia (Cercis siliquastrum).
    Cheers,
    Nik

  4. Thanks for the update Ian. Difficult to tell from just 1 picture but the one showing the rear of Tiffany's looks it might be the start of a new road. Have you seen anything to suggest that on any plans, or is it just the way the soil is being flattened?

    1. Does look like a new road, the construction traffic have been using the side road, by tiffany. Now it seems they have pushed through behind, it makes it a lot easier.

I have not seen any detailed plans, but this looks like it will be a parking area in the future.
