Retired Seamens Association of Skiathos - 2014 Calendar ...

Please do not be alarmed or laugh out loud ...

The Retired seamen's association of Skiathos 2014 calendar appeared this
morning, some six weeks late.

But this is Greece ...

Its now available if you want a copy - €5 plus P&P - If you want one then you can contact me here

Here is Vasilis, our friendly butcher from Tries Hieraches with the proof ...

This year its theme is old colour postcards, and has been printed in colour ...

Later update 13:30pm:
Thanks for the support this morning, for the Retired Seamens Association of Skiathos
The first orders are departing the island this afternoon, en route to the UK.

The Calendar is €5
P&P €4.10 to UK
If you order two the postage costs €6.40 to the UK due to the weight.
Vasilis has probably taken more money in sales of the calendar, than in his butchery skills this lunchtime ...

Even later update - 15:30pm:
For those that are interested its been a short sleeve shirt day here ...

But in a shady street in town, its touching 20 degrees ...

However we have been watching the TV in further disbelief at what is happening in the UK. Somerset and the Southern counties, slowly sinking under a deluge of floods after weeks of storms. The Thames barrier closed to protect the capital from the effects of the tides, on flooded streams, and rivers as further upstream to the west of London the land disappears under the water.

We have friends, in the affected areas, from as far afield as Berkshire, Cornwall, Devon, Shropshire, Somerset, and Surrey as well as the Home Counties. They are never far from our thoughts ...

Steve the 'townboy' writes this afternoon from somewhere near, and getting nearer to the Thames...

'Its still clear in central Windsor but for how long nobody knows. I have never seen the river so high through the bridge. The millionaire's apartments to the left of the pic are flooded as is the Cote Brasserie on the other side'

'I'm just upstream from the areas reported on in the local rag here. Don't see how Windsor's flood area (includes my road) will escape judging by the weather forecast these coming few days. I'll let you know when I've finished construction of my ark'

Enjoy the sunshine I spotted on the webcam this morning!
