Cooler on the rock ...

Back to being a grey day today ...

That will please a few of you. Carrefour well stocked with 'fasting goodies' Officially the last week of eating meat until after Lent. Tomorrow its Tsiknopempti - 'Charred Thursday' of what is meat week, before Lent. Tsikna is the smell of burning meat, that should waft around the streets, from the cooking. Looking forward to that ...

I picked up some tickets this morning, for this Sundays 'Skiathos scouts party' down on club strip. Its the first childrens party of Apokreas.  Should be a great one ...

Back in Papadamatis street, I popped my nose into the fish wagon. The fish man very kindly let me get a photo or two.

Yesterday he had a beautiful Scorpion fish (σκορπίνα) Today a large snapper Fagkri (φαγκρί) which means 'Beautiful one' I have to agree ...

Have not seen these here before - Gurnard (Καπόνι), they are very tasty, and in the UK people used to turn their nose up at them. Not now as they are seen as being a sustainable fish. Across the channel in France they get snapped up as soon as they arrive on shore ...

Not sure what these are called, but they are larger than my favourites the Maritha, so probably are just as tasty ...

I can hear the engines of the Apollon Hellas ferry, as it is making its way into Skiathos ...

13:00hrs Sun out and Blue skies again ...
