Catch of the day ...

So fresh they are almost twitching ...

Grey Mullet: Kéfalos (κέφαλος)
When you see Grey Mullet: - Kéfalos (κέφαλος) with clear eyes, pink gills, firm body, and it smells of the sea. Well its hard not to grab one, and think about getting your barbecue or grill ready. The added bonus here is that, not only were they scented with ozone, they still had the rigamortis too - that's very fresh, landed within the last few hours ...

Some lovely fish on offer this morning, Barbounia, Melanouri, Fagri, to name but a few. But these two cost me just €7 so that's a bargain in any language ...

Grilled Kéfalos that had been stuffed with lemon and the chopped fennel stalks. Grilled courgettes and fennel. Fillets removed then drizzled, on the plate with Latholemono, which I call 'Skiathos sauce' made from local sourced products - Olive oil, lemon juice and oregano. Potato salad and a fresh local lettuce ...
