Knock Knock ...

Who is there ???

Its your neighbour, with a gift from their farm ...

Fresh Pomegranates, a gift from our neighbours farm ...
So they look nice but what next, the answer ...

Courtesy of Simon Monks ...
Fancy a gin (or vodka) pomegranate cocktail?

Place spirit in freezer for about 1 hour. Have enough shot glasses for everyone. Best if they have had the freezer treatment too. Cut pomegranates in half and scoop out the capsules. Fill the shot glasses about half full with the seeds. Fill about 3/4 with the gin or vodka and finish with some crushed ice.

Shoot the cocktail back but don't swallow until you've crushed the seeds in your mouth to get the great burst of pomegranate. Then swallow. Then make another........

This morning cleaning rugs and mats, need to get them spruced up for winter, whilst we have such nice weather to dry them outside ...

I have spent the rest of the day oiling the shutters, and windows in readiness for winter. Quite impressed by my efforts, they are looking quite good. Plenty of advice from the neighbourhood of course - Job for Spring, Painted ones are better, go to the beach, things like that.

Its nice and warm in the sun, so aids the drying process of the oil. In summer the oil turns almost to a syrup if you apply it then.

Seems that some houses are going to be renovated nearby. If so we will have good recycling opportunities and probably some extra firewood soon ...
