I saw it ...

Trevor said, I will show you something you have never seen before ...

So tonight just after the most glorious of sunsets, we looked up. At 19:43pm the constellation Cygnus started to appear. That's roughly where it will be, he said. We craned our necks upward.

A bat flew across our view, Trevor worried about the haze.

19:44:43 ish Kay said there it is ...

A bright flash of light in the sky above, it grew in intensity, than faded away. The sun reflecting off an iridium communication satellite, right over Skiathos.

My first sight of what is known as an iridium flare ...

  1. There's an app for smart phones called SatTrack that will give you the time and direction of the flares and passes of the international space station.
