Topped out ...

The kindling pile, has reached its summit ...

So I have 110 fruit boxes stacked in three rows and braced twice with cross members. Its a pretty impressive structure, that will take some dismantling. A lot of crushing and tearing up to be done in a few weeks time.

In fact six weeks tomorrow the last flight departs this island. Its already noticeably quieter here in town. The clubs have closed, and the music bars have throttled back their noise output.

Last night we had a wind storm, that disrupted everything for a few hours. There were lots of angry clouds around, and convection rain showers set off by the heat. It spotted with rain in the wind, and at one time there was even a rainbow over Skopelos in the evening light as the sun set.

After dark it quietened down, and its perhaps a sign that change is in the air. Keeping an eye on the weather radar, it looks like we may get a storm on Saturday at the moment.

Met Maggie last night, a lovely lady from Derbyshire who is an avid reader of the blog. Later Sue and Terry from Wigan. Those wigan pies must do something to you, as Terry is very tall, but not as tall as Stig, from Norway ...

Vasilis Koralis passed by with his sister, a lovely lady from California. She thinks I should repost his photo, as the one with the oregano makes him not look his best. Vasilis as star of stage screen and the Bourtzi, has had his hair done for the recent concert.

However for the other 51 weeks of the year he looks, just like 'Vasilis' so I think you should see him the way he really is. Must get a photo of his winter wooly hat ...

Splendid effort again by Vasilis, against all the odds, he raised a lot of Euro's for the animals of Skiathos at the Bourtzi on Tuesday night. Well done to him and all the performers, who gave up their time for a good cause.

Another lady, Lesley has given up her holiday for the cats, her post yesterday is very popular, and has been well received. 14 likes at the moment, and for very good reason. Well done to her ...

Off to do battle with Greek officialdom this morning. Should be fun - Fixing bayonets, going over the top at 08:30am local time ...
