Sporades fire risk ...

Message courtesy of Skopelos News ...

This announcement was posted on the Vories Sporades blog and we looked at http://www.civilprotection.gr and translated the information.

A high fire risk was announced for the Sporades by the general secretariat for civil protection for  Thursday the 22nd of August. The public is asked to be extremely cautious and not throw burning cigarettes out of vehicles, not burn any branches, leaves, not work with machines that can cause sparks of fire like saws and not have a BBQ in an open area.

Windy once again ...

Friends arrived in town last night and looked me up. We had not seen each other for four years, so had some catching up to do. Great fun and a few beers recycled. Cleared the air if not the head, and before we knew it it was 03:30am.

Time for a slow scan of the back of the eyelids zzzzzzz ...

PS: Latest 2013 score: Skiathian 4 Wasps 1 ...

Two flashing square cuts this morning, both towards the harbour, that Mr David Gower would have been proud of in his prime ...
