First timers and the Greek Psyche ...

Great post by a first timer ...

Deeply concerned of Worthing writes ...

We are due to fly out on the 30th for eleven nights and for almost a year now have been gagging for our first sighting of Skiathos and to experience all the things we have been reading about on our first Greek trip.

Reading the Skiathian's blog this past few days I feel like cancelling as it sounds like the world is about to end!

Seems Autumn is upon us, summer is over, tavernas closing, musician's sacked and winter timetables for transport. Will Skiathos still be open when we arrive and will it be freezing as no one else will be there!?!?

I suppose I could always say here that the place is rammed, that there is a heatwave, and the bus is packed until October. The beaches are full, there are no mosquito's or wasps, and that it will not ever rain in September ...

But most of you like to honestly hear what it really is like on the island. One that reports what the locals say, and not what many people think from afar.

Alternatively you can always come here, and learn what it is all about, and report back later ...

PS: 2013 score: Skiathian 2 Wasps 1 ...

    1. DC of W, has to read up about our Greek friends. They think summer finishes at the end of the month. The old ladies stop sitting outside at night on 1st September, even if it's 30 degrees. Last night was the August moon. It's Autumn here in 9 days :)
