If you look the other way ...

Its a lovely sunny day ...

However on the island the cloud has closed in, and what promised to be a nice day earlier - Is now a cool chilly one once again.

The highlight of the day is the arrival of the Express Pegasus car ferry from Volos. Steaming into port its quite an impressive feature. I note that its had some work done over the winter, the screech from the gearbox when it engages reverse seems to be missing.

I had to take a photo coming into port, as when it departs the kerosene/diesel mix in the fuel completely envelops the port in a heavy grey blue smog.

Burning all that fuel to turn the huge propellors must keep the boat nice and warm, for the trip over to Skopelos town. That happens to be as far as it goes on a Wednesday.

Becoming more Greek by the day (Feeling the cold) and (Why warm your house, when you can sit in someone elses) I retreated to my favourite coffee shop for a chat about Venezuelan politics (Something dear to a Greeks heart) and a warm by the souba (Woodburner)

Now this one is a classic, rescued from the basement, during a clear out - It has been restored to use keeping us warm in the Gerani.

I love this piece on antiquity, and have been admiring it for some time. Thanks to austerity and rising electric prices its rightfully back in use ...

Which reminds me, my next wood delivery has been negotiated (In the middle of Papadamatis street) this morning, and should be here in the next day or so ...

Today being another strike day no rubbish bins being emptied, however a house being cleared nearby has meant a lot of recycling taking place from the bins from local neighbours.

Until then from a watery grey overcast island in the aegean ...
