Autumn warmers ...

Only a few days to go until the clocks go back ...

Chillier evenings and darker skies, signify that its very autumnal. Huge sweet chestnuts are on sale everywhere, harvested from the Pelion.

Today the rain clouds skirted the island, and we had a hint of rain in the air. Its been a little breezy down on the paralia too. Soon it will be winter once again.

Tonight again the fire is lit, and the mighty woodburner, is roaring away in the corner of the room. Its around wood mark 5 in here, I am more than warm enough, but the rest of the house say its 'just right'.

I was slaving over a hot stove again, this evening. What to cook on a night like this ?

Well after watching the trawlers arrive, I decided it was to be the first fish pie of autumn, and the bowl has been emptied. The fish, was something like cod, perhaps it was Ling - which is very popular here 'salted' however this was frozen from the supermarket.

However with the addition of a nice glass of chilled white Propogos - I must admit, it went down very well indeed.

Now all that leaves, is the washing up ...
