Feasting ...

The feasting takes place after the fasting ...

This morning, Junior found out it was a different day. Today it was ok to play with the shiny red eggs that we have had on the table.

Here they are with the carnations from the Epitaphos, and a traditional brioche Easter loaf, which was a gift from my lovely neighbour Maria

However it did not take long for junior to find out, that the one wrapped in foil is much more fun, and tastes somewhat better...

Its certainly not a good time to be a lamb or goat, they are all being spit roasted today. The aroma around the streets is quite amazing.

Agelos at Stamatis was exhausted after working 20 hours yesterday. Yet here he is looking after the spit on Sunday morning ready for the lunch guests

Next door Yorgos or Chicken George as he is known here, was working away too, he reopened for lunch after his annual week off. Still not smiling despite this being the best weekend of the year ...

I joined my friend Stamatis and his girlfriend at Slip Inn for a coffee, they called me in as i passed. It wins my award for the most stylish cafe in the harbour.
The outside lounge area has soft sofas, beautiful flowers, potted geraniums, and lovely soft embroidered cushions from Spain, which she said would be stolen pretty quickly in the UK. But as a member of the 'Met' - she would say that ...

Its little touches that make the difference, my cappuccino was served with a little truffle, and some roasted beans - Quality ...

Slip Inn: It was actually blown up by the Germans in 1944, as it was a munitions store.

We headed off in separate directions, with rumbling tummies and an appointment with an unfortunate lamb...
